When I was spending a lot of time in the White Mountains, my carry piece was a Ruger .44 with a 4.75 in barrel. I carried it in a shoulder rig that the maker called a John Wesley Hardin rig. It was a SlimJim type holster with three pair of bullet loops down the face of it. It's not where I can put my hands on it at the moment, but I think it was El Paso that made it.
