"A ladies gun?" Who said that?
It is kind of a gay looking little thing that cost an arm and a leg. https://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols/micro-9 Yup off to my gunsmith today to put the damn sear back in. One frigging week of trying and I give the hell up. Got everything back fine except the damn sear. Young feller says he can do it in 3 seconds? 3 seconds? Hell I been working on it for 3 weeks but I ain't gonna tell him that. LOL.

That is a neat looking little firearm. I always liked the combat commander, smaller but not that small. |

It had a feed issue with the non extended floor plate mag from Kimber, but ran fine with the extended one. Also didn't seem to like the SB 115 grn ammo, but ran flawlessly with the Speer gold dot HP's. After break in it runs a lot better, with most ammo I've tried in it even some hand loads, although I also polished the feed ramp. I will say that it's too small for me without the extended magazine, my pinkie has no where to sit.

I'm not too knowledgeable on the topic, as I've not done much research myself. I have heard only good about the RIA pistols though.

I have two Springfield Armory 1911-A1's...
1. The "GI" model. 2. The "Loaded" model. Both are nice. I paid around $500 for the GI and $800 for the Loaded. I've had a few stove pipes with the GI model and ZERO malfs with my Loaded model. Each has around 3K rounds through them The Loaded is my every day carry gun. It eats Hornady Critical Defense 185 gr. FTX like crazy. My son carries a Citadel Commander model (made by Armscor). It has everything my Loaded does except the ambidextrous safety. He paid $500 for his. He has had ZERO malfs with his also. His also likes the same Hornady rounds I use. When the time comes for me to spend some $$$ on another handgun, I will look hard at Citadel. |

OK, cheap 1911s to buy that are worth the money:
Century Arms 1911 - bought one and it has the BEST trigger on ANY production gun I have seen! As good OR BETTER than some "custom" 1911s by big name smiths (no I am not going to mention Wilson, plus his didn't work, period. So much for test firing!) WORKED right out of the box!! Unlike, say, Kimbers and Wilson... Also has a slip that EVERYONE who touched that pistol had to sign off on! Something screwed up? Guess who gets a reaming! Rock Island Armory - A lot of shooting ranges rent these and they take a pounding and keep on firing. Long after some of the "big names" (no I am NOT going to mention Kimber! So stop asking! Although their quality and QC MAY have improved the last few years,... or not) have given up any pretext of usefulness. Taurus - bought one in .38 Super and GREAT trigger! No problems so far, but hear of the ambi safety falling off, not a big deal to me, got other safeties I can fit if needed. Series 80 safety (hate them although the trigger here is excellent!) and a BEAR to get out!! Worked out of the box, unlike... OK, I WAS going to say "Kimber" but won't, as the "big name" smith's gun refused to feed ANY factory ammo from ANY magazine and couldn't even get the cartridge to feed even if hand feed into the barrel. Can you say "not test fired"? |

I imagine a lot of gear got buried back when everything changed. Most of the blokes I knew that thought that way would either be too old to remember where they buried them and too old to dig them up. It's a different world here now. |

They remember him building big PVC pipes to hide them in along with ammo. They've searched their entire property, with metal detectors, no luck. Someday, someone will find them, maybe. |

Not a quick draw but its better than nuttin I guess. I had this one until the terrible boating accident. Real nice shooter except for that damn series 80 extra safety. Thank you Komifornia for that one you socialist commie anti gun pigs. A bit over $800 plus tax. https://www.google.com/search?q=colt...M45rXEFH3jOHM: |
