Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default BPS Knives Adventurer Camp Knife

https://bpsknives.com/product/advent...camping-knife/

I got this knife for Christmas from my oldest and her husband. I’d been wanting to try one out for a while, as they looked like a diamond in the rough, made by a relatively unknown company in Ukraine. The blade is full tang, 1066 carbon steel with a razor sharp Scandi grind edge. It also has a sharp 90 degree spine that works great on the included ferrocerrium fire starter rod.

The leather sheath it comes with is high quality, and nicer than the sheaths many, more expensive knives come with.

The grip is walnut with a rough oil finish. Nothing fancy, but utilitarian.

I’ll probably cold blue the blade with vinegar to help prevent rust. All in all, it seems to be a sturdy, well made knife.

Price on Amazon is $32-$40 depending on sale prices.

just keep it oiled

I have a knife my FIL gave me some time ago, and it was bad but I was able to bring it back to life and it's really sharp, I applied cold gun blueing to it, it's holding on with no rust and I keep it in the shed.

Come to think of it, I have a bottle of cold gun bluing around here, somewhere. I used to use it to finish bent flats instead of spraypaint or some of the fancier finishes.

My $140 Tops knife started rusting after 4 days hard use in the SE Ohio jungle. It is powdercoated (or Ceracoated), except for the edge and the spine after I filed off the paint so I could use it to strike a ferro rod.

There are some fantastic stainless steels out there now. The only thing keeping makers using some of the regular carbon steels is probably tradition, because cost isn't that much more for a quality stainless, anymore.

Painting a stainless tripod the other day and my neighbor said rub it down with vinegar then paint it. Be damned it's holding up good.

If I'm going to paint metal I rub it with acetone first, that's how you do airplane metal. It cleans it up really well, no grease, no fingerprints.
