Japanese rifles
I have three different types in my collection. These rifles are not as nice looking as some of you have posted in this forum. They more than likely never will be.
However they are part of my collection and were involved in the war in the Pacific during WWII. The top rifle in the first picture is a Type I (6.5 mm). My Father brought it back from the war. I inherited it. The next one down is a Type 38 carbine (6.5 mm). The bottom is a Type 99 (7.7 mm). I purchased the last two at gunshows. The second photo shows the mum still intact on the Type 38. The Type 99 mum was ground off. The Type I was not manufactured with one as it was Italian made. The third photo shows the cartouche carved on the butt stock by Johnny (Bubba?). That is the main reason that I purchased this rifle, as it will require a lot of restoration where it has been "sporterized". [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |
