Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Looking for recommendations on a new computer.

My 12 year old Dell is sucking more each day. It takes like 1/2 an hour to wake it up, and get my email, or open QuickBooks.

I just need a cheap tower. I only use it for QuickBooks, Email, Photoshop, and my wife uses it for her Silhouette cutter. I do need it to work with dual monitors. I’m very computer illiterate.

Cheaper the better.

Thanks in advance.

I've been using a couple of Dell Inspirions, 1 Ter hard drive, 8 gig memory, they never turn off. I have replaced the hard drive on them after about 4-5 years of heavy use so make sure you keep that Windows serial number written down somewhere so you can reinstall it and make regular backups. Also run CCleaner once a week or so, clean the garbage and the registry, that keeps them going fast. Delete applications you never use.

What is CCleaner, and should I use it on my clapped out Dell?

Here are some free to try utility programs to clean up your computer:

https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download

https://www.glarysoft.com/glary-utilities/download/

https://www.superantispyware.com/free-edition.html

https://www.iolo.com/landing/smfree/

I have a subscription to System Mechanic, it is licensed to be used on 3 computers, it does a good job.

Also if you haven't 'defragged' your hard drive give that a try unless it is a solid state to which it won't work.
