If anything I pull out of the freezer, has 'freezer burn', I offer it to a friend that feeds his dogs meat. Otherwise, if the meat 'looks & smells ok' (once mostly thawed), in the smoker it goes. I can usually tell, if the meat will be 'good' to eat, once trimmed.
Sadly, I have tossed large pork butts and even a 'full packer brisket' in the past. That's why I give any meat in that condition, to my friend. His doggos need to eat too! |
