Ever heard of a Aldi store?
I went in one near a job I was working on because I forgot my lunch cooler this morning
I didnt know Aldi was a grocery type store. Like super mini food costco, kinda. I thought it was a gas station Good low prices... Didnt look around much, bought a , a avocado, gatoraid, and a box of fresh strawberrys(are good, fresh) Googled it, I guess its a German owned company they built a few stores around here last couple years We did concrete on a huge bunch of England owned grocery (Easy and Smart IIRC) stores and huge factory about 10 years ago but they went under after spending a fortune on buildings and property

Had one here for about five years. I buy anything I can from there instead of Chinaco.

I always shop there because of the cost, even though the percentage of sheep in the aisles is the same as the big name groceries around here.

Friend over 15 years ago got employed there first as a manager then for years some kind of regional float manager/supervisor. He was paid well started at over $80k when he landed it, but they ran him ragged with unpacking products and handling paperwork, and low amount staff of just a few employees a store. He had a crazy amount of holiday and sick days since it’s a euro company, like 12 weeks vacation towards his last couple years before he burnout from all the stores he worked at in 2hr distance and constant travel.

They are an international company originating in Germany. They own Trader Joe.

They are kind of weird about vegetables. For example, they sell cauliflower in plastic sealed bags. They put about half of a cauliflower in a bag. They don't sell name brand stuff which you can find in other stores. All of their milk looks generic. Also, Trader Jose's is NOT a natural food store. It is full of junk food masquerading as healthful. The meat and fish are ridiculously expensive. I bought a loaf of bread for the wife, 6 s and a bag of tangerines. One day in TJ an old lady bitched me out. She said I got too close to her. In reality, while I was getting something from a bottom shelf, she turned and stepped toward me, and started bitching. I walked away and she followed me bitching. When she was at the cash register I got in line behind her. She started bitching and asked for the manager. The manager came out. She complained how I had gotten too close to her. She said I was rude. The manager said to me, "In these difficult times,...". I said, "Look, you can say whatever you want and so can I." I turned to the bitchy lady and said, "Hey Lady, if you don't like it, call the Gestapo to report me." The manager walked away.

Should have given her your card. Here call a lawyer bitch.
I like Aldi's concept of passing on money savings. One in Ocala I have to give a try.

I have to go to Aldis for my mom. I really don’t like it. All their stuff is off brand stuff that is on scale price wise to name brands. With that said some off brand stuff you get might be really good (or it might be terrible) You just never know.
They do have some brand of milk that stays good for a lot longer. |

Where and when I lived up north, there were two Aldi Markets. I started shopping there in order to save a few bucks. I was really surprised, it was good. When I moved south I was thrilled to see there was one down here.
They don’t carry everything I use, but I buy all I need that they have. The only time I go elsewhere is to get something they don’t carry. IMHO: You can’t beat their prices or food.

There are actually 2 different Aldi stores. You can tell them apart by the color of their signs. The 2 brothers split in 1960 because one wanted to sell cigarettes but the other didn’t. In America one store is called Aldi and the other renamed to Trader Joe’s. Only in America do the 2 stores share geography.
