Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default 45/70 ammo

Gentlemen, does anyone here know of a decent source for 45/70 Gov't ammo? I've been searching and I keep coming up with stuff that costs more than $2.00 every time you pop a cap.
Thanks. Cerberus
.
Mods, feel free to move this where it belongs. I just wanted to get the greatest amount of eyes on it. Thanks

$1.47 per round.

Then sell your used brass for $0.50 per round.

Thanks grains. That's better than anything I've found. I've bought from them before. Don't know why they didn't come up on my searches.
My go-to is Georgia-Arms. Their best price is $37.00 for 20 rds, and it ain't in stock.

Hey Stalky, I checked out BH's website. They list them but don't show a price. Any idea who handles their stuff?
Thanks. Cerberus
BTW, HSM, the brand that grains pointed out to me, uses StarLine Brass. At least for their 45/70.

Dixie Gun Works has 45/70 blanks for about $.80 @...probably Lyle Gun line throwing cartridges surplus from the US Navy...they can be reloaded, may contain a black powder charge depending on age. They used to be quite easy to find...cheap even.

Well 10, it's like this. I thought I was set. And then those little bastards that I shoot with, you know, my grandsons, they found out how much fun a Marlin 1895 Guide and a Sharps can be to shoot.
Oh well, I guess I'm going to have to set up another bench.

I bought a hundred pieces of brass, and dies. I cast my own bullets, 300 and 405 grainers. Some I load with black powder for the 1873 and use smokeless in the guide gun. Really the only way to go on 45-70 if you are going to shoot it much. Graf & Son is my go to place for reloading. They charge only a $7.95 handling charge and pay the shipping unless you have some hazmat stuff. If you don't reload, maybe you should.

I would like to purchase some 45-70 government with smokeless powder for my Springfield Trapdoor rifles. Something that will not EXPLODE my antique guns.
