10/22 magazine issue
I have a 10/22 mag (Ruger made original rotary) that when loaded to capacity will feed the first round, fail to feed the second, then feed the next eight w/o issue. The other rotary Ruger mag works well.
Both are new to use. One has sat in the rifle box since purchase over a decade ago. The other is newly purchased. I did not mark them for differentiation as I expected no issue. Is this a breaking-in quirk or am I doing something wrong and not repeating it on the other mag? If not, insertion or defective mag would be the answer. Owing to the 10/22's reputation I'm not inclined to declare the mag defective.

Ruger Rotory mags tend to get gummed up from bullet lubes. Buy yourself some Black Dog Machine mags. Their drums run great in my M-16 with the CMMG upper.

I've never had any problems with Ruger magazines.
Probably just needs to be broke in. I would use it several times to loosen it up. I wouldn't put that silly drum on a 10/22.

It's not mine. Good to hear it probably needs breaking in. Owner has aftermarket Ram-Line and wind-up teardrop shaped mags.

I've got about a dozen Ruger 10/22 magazines. I've never had any problem with any of them.

I agree with Baboon, I have three factory magazines for my 10/22 and occasionally one will start to hang up on the second or third round. I just spray it out with something like Break-Free CLP and it clears up.

I bought a Ruger Charger a few months back. I checked out many videos on what mags are best. Many video's on how to break down, clean, and reassemble.

I lube mine with graphite. I have Butler Creek "steel lips" mags that run fine.

Recently (last couple days) ran a brand new Ruger factory magazine with identical problems as the original post. After 60 rounds through it, it's fine, even with cheap Remington ammunition.
