Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Flashing Arrow First New Technology for Ammunition Cases in Decades; Shell Shock Technologies, LLC

This is pretty interesting. The only two-piece cases I ever saw were metal base and plastic bodies. They never did catch on.

These can be reloaded with their special dies. They can also be picked up with a magnet.

Quote:
Shell Shock Technologies, LLC. (SST), a start-up technology and manufacturing company focused on developing disruptive case technologies for the ammunition industry, has officially launched their first product; the NAS3 two-piece 9mm Nickel Alloy Shell.

Founded in August 2015, SST is committed to developing industry leading new technologies that combine low-cost with unprecedented performance.

The NAS3 two-piece case consists of a solid nickel-plated aircraft aluminum head and a proprietary enhanced nickel alloy stainless cylinder. The 9mm case is 50% lighter and costs significantly less than conventional brass cases. The weight savings will be even more dramatic for rifle cases. Shell Shock will be releasing additional pistol cases (380 and .45ACP) by year-end and a selection of rifle calibers over the next 12 months, all of which will feature NAS3 technology. All Shell Shock products come with a 24-month price guarantee and are proudly made in the USA!

And just think, only $77.95 a round.

OK, sounds good! I'd like to give them a try; but where do I purchase these NAS3 cartridges; and what bullet configurations do they come in?

Interesting comments, especially from the idiot gallery.

Actually, at this time there are no actual venders, but I think the concept is great.

And only $500.00 for the proprietary loading dies.

Are they accepting deposits now for the dies and cases that will be delivered sometime eventually in the future, maybe?

Reminds me of almost every issue of "Popular Mechanics," where weird is always better.
How can nickel and stainless be cheaper than brass?
What BENEFITS are there? Better accuracy? Better life? No more trimming? Will reload data be the same, or will all loadings have to be re-worked? How can a two-piece something be stronger than a one-piece?

Many, if not most, of the questions you're wondering about - as well as several other proposed advantages - are addressed in the opening paragraph of this thread.

I read the articles and like a lot of things these cases sound to good to be true. Probable because of the advertisement tone of the the articles. Brass has served well for a long time and will continue to do so. However, if this case works the way the advertisement/articles say it will I'd be willing to give it a try. Picking them up with a magnet, an extreme spread of 3ft/sec, loading one case 40 times all sounds good, maybe to good. How about the cost per case and dies? Haven't heard much about that.
