Transferring files between your smartphone and PC — the easy way
It’s an age-old story. File meets computer, computer wants to introduce file to its smartphone, computer can’t find the right feature for that. File transfer between PC and mobile devices is often a pain, yes, but it’s not impossible. Here are the most effective ways to get that content from your desktop computer to a mobile device of your choice, whether you choose to do so using your trusty USB drive or one of the many wireless methods available on today’s smartphones.

I always plug the phone in to the computer via USB and transfer that way. It's made even easier that I have a couple Linux systems on the computer and Android is Linux, too.
BUT... I could see where an app for dropping files via WiFi would be great advantage, too. Brian

I use my own Western Digital 4 Terrabyte Cloud storage hooked up to my router, I can upload and download documents, pictures and anything I want from anywhere in the world and then retrieve them on my desktop if needed.

I just connect the phone to my computer with a USB cord and move the files. No big deal.
I've done it wirelessly but USB is faster.
