I shot it twice just to make sure it worked, it was a birthday gift from my gun loving son. I mentioned I was missing a .22 rifle and he went out and got it. We have a deal, when I kick the bucket he gets all my tools except the PPKs, that goes to his sister.

I've probably shot it more than she has, always for varmits. I must not be that great of a shot because I rarely get a clean kill with .22 LR. .22 Mag has scored clean kills on everything from chipmonks to foxes. I like the flatter trajectory. Stopping power is unreal. Nothing beats .22 LR for target shooting. In the hands of a skilled marksman, 22 LR is deadly for all sizes of varmit. I just am better with .22 Mag. |

We have the M&P 15-22s and they literally NEVER jam and are very accurate. Our 10-22s always seem to get fouled up and start behaving badly. The Ruger .22 Precision is very accurate, but heavy...actually too heavy to pack around.
There is only (1) flaw with the M&P 15-22 is the trigger pins can walk out of the polymer receiver holes, but that can be fixed with dog bone trigger pins from JoeBobOutfitters. |

I have several AR type dedicated 22's. One I made for my daughter weighs only about 3 pounds.

I am old school in some ways and have 4 Remington Nylon 66 .22 rifles ranging in condition from the beater with probably over 30,000 rounds through it I bought new in 1976 to a NIB Apache Black with the satin chrome finish which will be given to my granddaughter.
One of my current favorites is a scoped M & P 15/22 plinker that I won at a gun bash for 5 bucks, I call it my poodle shooter because the gun bash was to raise money for the local county humane society. |
