The quad 12 gauge perimeter trip alarm

I ordered this today for camping. Should be a lot of fun if something or someone comes through my camp. I'll start with just one, but may add more later. I like that I can run a trip wire in 4 different directions. I got the flash bangs mainly because I didn't like the idea of possibly gassing myself out if the wind was blowing the wrong direction and something set off one of the pepper spray blanks.

Booby traps were kind of a specialty of mine in the Army. My favorites were artillery simulators and CS grenades. (Hey, they wouldn't give me frags and C4 for booby traps in the peacetime Army). I was a very attentive student at the booby trap course at Ft. Benning and the instructors were excited to teach eager students all they knew.

Most of the time when I go solo camping, I'm deep in the woods and don't see people. My primary use for something like this would be to scare away a curious bear at 2:00 AM when I'm asleep. Normally, I try to keep a fire going at night and stow away any food to discourage wildlife from visiting.

Overall, this perimeter trip alarm kit is a pretty cool concept. Even if you never actually need it, just having it set up would make me sleep a little better.

We used to make those back in the day. Kinda the same concept, but used a piece of EMT conduit to hold the shotgun shell with the shot cut off.

That is pretty cool you got to learn booby traps compliments of the govt.. Never was really around them we learned Foo Gas traps with 55 gallon drums that really put out some serious problems for anyone on the receiving end. One big bar of C-4 was the projectile.
Then in country we were so far out in no mans land they were useless as their was to much A.O. to cover.
