I can't believe the prices on this Romy kit! I think I paid $45 for the ones I have that are in unfired condition. I guess I need to check my trunion markings.
I need to take another look at my Romy kits.

Yes, the Romy kits are going for big bucks these days, like every other Soviet bloc kits. I would love to build one but too much $$$ and trouble today. -
I got stymied on my Polish underfolder build. Can't get the lower rivets on the rear trunnion squished with my homemade rivet squisher. I need to make some kind of extension for it.Comment

Look this guy up, he seems to know what he's doing.

I had to take one to a machine shop and have the barrel pin drilled out. They were pissed because they burned up 3 industrial carbide drill bits. They asked me, what in the world is that steel made out of? All I could tell them is that it was some kind of commie steel.Originally posted by DennisHThose Romy kits were the worst for pushing out that barrel/trunion pin, but I had such a blast in the past building AKs of all types. There was something very satisfying about getting the correct rivets pressed perfectly and finishing up another beautiful rifle.😂 3Comment

Back when the kits were only $85.00, I bought a bunch of them. Buying a cut kit with a barrel intact & having VCI paper in the barrel to prevent rust was the norm. I should have bought several dozen, but was lacking funds.
Now, the barrel is worth 3 times what the kits cost originally.Comment
