Found an elk round steak in the freezer. Thawed it out and the wife made an elk stroganoff in the crock pot using red wine instead of the usual white wine.
I started making a Stroganoff yesterday using marked down fajita meat, it takes a good bit of simmering to make it tender enough. Today I justy need to heat the meat add my mushrooms and onions I aready cooked and the sour cream.

We have some venison we canned a while back that makes real good stroganoff.
