I need to buy one for the island place. I have a nice one back in MIA but too expensive, salty air will mess them up within a year or two

Weber seems to be the way to go Fred? But lots of good choices. I want one where the flame comes up and hits the food but so far just heat no flame??
Damn I think boon has two dozen he has every one they ever made.

Get one of those Komodo style ceramic ones like the Big Green Egg, and its knock offs. There are only a few things that could rust on one.

Miss that authentic charcoal-grilled taste, but hate uneven heat or burnt food? This ceramic grill retains and distributes heat more evenly, helping you cook food juicy inside, perfectly charred outside.Ideal for yakitori, Korean BBQ, or simple grilled meals—right at home or outdoors. Cook Safely, Even When the Grill Is

I like my Kamado fine & if I was cooking for a crowd I grill on it, but this Hibatchi is purpose built. After cooking those steaks and eating them for breakfast I went out and tossed two frozen burger patties on and they came out as good as the steaks. I just ordered some skewers for shrimp

And you are coming to get it up one flight of stairs for me. I helped one neighbor of mine get one out of a truck all the way to his backyard and it broke our backs, it was a big one too.

Nice grill and excellent results. For decades, all I've used are charcoal grills using hardwood as fuel, never charcoal. I've tried different brands over the years. The ones I'm happy with are the basic model Weber grills. The 22" is the one I use the most and have a tiny "smoky Joe" model for smaller stuff. I like them a lot.

One disadvantage with the way I grill is the heat from burning wood down to coals is hard on grills. They wear out quicker than with standard charcoal. The first thing to go is usually the grill grates, followed by any interior hardware exposed to the heat. After a couple years of frequent use and being stored outside, my Weber 22" is still going strong. The grill grate is almost ready for replacement, but I have a new one standing by to swap out at a moment's notice.

This being ceramic & stainless steel should last me just fine. Besides it under a roof in my screened in back porch

I can relate to the weight of a Komado. This on the other hand while ceramic not a big grill or heavy

"Since you kids are going to be staying at the Island house this weekend, would you stop by and take this BBQ grill I bought for it, for me? Thanks!"
