Hearing some Glen Miller is a boost in my moral. Mom & Dad liked to dance and I recall many times being in the dance halls playing with other kids while our parents were doing their boogie. Meyers Lake amusement park had a dance hall back then and so did the PNC in Peninsula. The roller skating rink in Springfield Twp, also put on dances.

When my daughter was in middle school (our old junior high) she was in the jazz band and played tenor sax, at the end of the year they had a real nice show and closed with "In The Mood" , mind you their teacher was a Grammy Award winner and he got those kids to do a beautiful job. Oldest son also played the tenor sax but at the end of 10th grade he quit when he got into college/high school dual enrollment. I still have the sax put away
