In summary... Coyotes are learning how to kill hogs. They wait till early morning when the sows are most tired after a night of foraging. Then, they go after the piglets.

Their studying the new discovery of the coyotes killing the hogs and their hunting techniques. Appears their packing up like the wolf's hunt and going for the hogs throats. Their not eating much of the carcass and its off to a fresh kill. As the hogs are hitting the billions of dollar $$ in damage range to the ranchers and farmers I wonder if this may be a reprieve on coyote hunting??

Here in Michigan, coyotes are widely hated, mostly because they kill deer. When I see them, I leave them alone. We actually have too many deer in the state. Fewer people are getting into hunting. I enjoy deer hunting and consider coyotes worthy competitors. When I'm done butchering a deer, I leave the remaining carcass out in the woods and let the coyotes feast on it.

Speaking of deer... My wife was walking our dog through our woods trails this afternoon. A deer stood motionless just 20' off the trail and watched my wife and our dog walk by. That's on advantage to being out in the woods so much. The deer are used to us and don't spook as easily. The only two deer I've ever harvested in my life were taken on our property, just stalking them on our trails.
