It is good to see the work preserved. Hopefully it will be covered with resin.
Classical Greek sculpture was done in wood, bronze and marble. Wood rotted, bronze was melted for cannons in the Middle Ages (all Greek bronze statuary we have now was recovered from ship wrecks because bronze was useful for cannon a lot of it (bronze) coming from church bells that used to be Greek statues), and marble often become rubble for fortification walls like the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and all the statuary.
