I did go to the toy show

went with son grandson and brother. And I couldn’t find any Tisas 1911, next I know my son says “ come here pop I want to show you this one”, reluctantly I went and he shows me this beautiful Colt Gold Match series 70 , yeah, it’s pretty but…. Clerk said but you own it…. No I don’t Yes you do he just bought it for you, go do the paperwork. I called my son every name in the book and he smiled and said Guess who’s taking all your guns when you die you old fart!.

In some ways yes but he turned out to be a very savvy businessman who has done very well on his own and has a Midas touch.

Congrats on raising up a good young man. Nice pistol, too.

Nice! I was looking at the picture of those the other day and drooling. Not too crazy about adjustable sights on a 1911 or fiber optic sights, but I could make an exception.

It’s not a tool, it’s more of a collector’s item and to be used on special occasions. It’s very pretty except those blue grips but the go well with the steel color.

Yeah, you could abuse one of those Tisas pistols and never feel a bit of guilt. The Colt? Not so much.

Yeah, I figured if I could have found a Tisa, but my son said, It's a piece of shit...I don't care, I can fix anything in a 1911...So he went ahead and got his, My idea was to put my original 1974 series 70 away and keep a cheap one by my night stand, so Now I'll put this one away and keep the old one handy....until I get a Tisa for a good price.

I think he got Kimber and TIsas mixed up.

Let me tell you prices were high, I told one guy they must think people in Miami are all millionaires, I can understand maybe $60 over online prices, to compensate for shipping and FFL transfer but everything was at suggested retail, you needed to negotiate with them. The Colt was at online price, but my son was able to get a hell of a price on a Mossberg 500 (New Version) for my brother from the same store.

That's how gun shows are, now. The merchant mentality has taken them over and it really takes away from the fun show portion of the experience.

You got to at least put a few boxes through that beauty! Those craftsmen at Colt didn't build it so it could sit in a safe somewhere and gather dust.

When I feel better I'll take it to the range.
