    Tisas 1911 A1 Government

I thought on the old forum someone mentioned having one. LGS has it for $299 this week.

Would be my son’s Christmas gift. Had bad luck with budget guns so I’m hesitant.

They are CNC machined to better tolerances than hand fit ones. Metallurgy seems to be spot on. Finish isn't great, but it isn't bad, either. Nobody I know who has bought one has said they regretted it, including my daughter. The fact that the CMP commissioned a bunch to sell under their name speaks volumes.

Just ran 200 rounds through mine with a suppressor and not a hiccup. Accuracy? Gotta ask someone young I am old tired aching miserable and going blind.
RetVet put a post up on them and I bought at PSA for $299.

Had the Rock Island G.I. model sold it needed $$ and now I am getting another. I loved it tight well made and accurate. Trigger? Ah put another in if your fussy about them but hell I don't care worked fine for me.
Hitchcock tested one against one of those $2,000 rich peoples guns and it held its ground shot for shot.

I bought one earlier this year. Zero issues with it. It always fed well with FMJ. I haven't tried hollow points. The government sights, well, suck.

Ah hell the military doesn't use sights RedOak. All that going to the range stuff while in training. In real life: Lay flat as yah can flip the switch says 'F' on yer gun stands for 'FUN'. Keep squeezing the trigger till the bad guys stop coming. Sights? we don't need no sights.

Target shooting and the use of a firearm in combat are related but very different indeed. Paper targets have all day to stay in one place and they don't shoot at you to kill. Std 1911A1, military style sights option up just fine when the lead is flying and you need an iron teddy bear to cling to. Those 3dot iron sights are a huge step towards perfection.

I damn near bought one of the double stacks early December when they dropped to $549.99 at Palmetto State Armory

Since I've got a Platypus on order I'm not feeling the need for a Tisas right now, but if those things ever drop to something closer to $500 my self-control might falter a bit.

My X would take my .45s and slam danced center target at 25 yds.. Chicks that are not worried about recoil have damn good hand eye coordination.
