    Thinking about changing my EDC

A Glock 43X has my eye right now. My wife has a 43 and a 43X. I fired the 43X this summer and really liked it.

I've always carried a .38 snub nose revolver. Today I borrowed her 43X and liked the way it carried; nice and flat, snug to my hip. It didn't stick out as much as a .38. The 43X is a 9mm 10-round single stack. I kinda like it.

Take a look at Springfield's Hellcat.
Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.

Yea, Hellcat Pro or Sig P365x. My wife and son both have a 365x and seem quite happy with them.

You're in a rural area. Personally, I'd stick with the wheel gun. I prefer revolvers to semi-autos. But each has their place. If it were me, I'd stick with the snub nose. But if capacity and caliber were an issue, step it up to a full size revolver. I live in a suburb of Memphis TN, not exactly rural. I chose to carry my Ruger Speed Six revolver. As most self-defense shootings result in 2 or 3 shots fired, there are exceptions. In the end, go with what you know, what you're comfortable with, and what you're proficient with. I like my edc choice as it provides me with six rounds of utter devastation (plus a reload) and the reliability of a wheel gun. But your situation is yours, and yours alone. You do what's best for you and yours.

Edit: Don't worry about how much your gun "sticks out". Its one thing if you're carrying a .44mag or a Desert Eagle. But if you're carrying a full size .357mag, 9mm, etc., most people won't even notice that you're printing.

M&P Shield Plus. 10 and 13 rounders included. 15 available. I have an original Shield with Magguts +2 kits so 10+1 in the gun and 10 on my belt. Been thinking about the upgrade for more capacity and better trigger. My Shield 1.0 has been ultra reliable.

Thanks for your feedback. My .38 and .357 snub nosed aren't going away. I just liked the feel and function of the Glock 43X. I had my wife order it for me. She's better at that. Go figure. The biggest decision was what color combination. There's literally dozens of options. I actually went with one of the least expensive: olive drab lower with a black upper. I liked that one the best.

There was another that caught my eye. It was a blue color with a sort of "distressed" paint scheme. It almost looked like weathered copper. I liked that a lot, but decided to go more conventional with earth tones. Wife made a good point. She liked the blueish color as well but said it may not look the same in person. Good point.

You sound like my brother. He insisted on the P365X. He loves his. I had the opportunity to shoot both. For some reason, the Glock 43X just spoke to me more. It was comfortable, natural and accurate. That's what I went with.
