    Springfield Ronin Commander 9mm

ronin2.jpg Picked this up a few months ago from Primary Arms. Had a few feeding issues initially but once I got things broken in its running like a top now. It likes everything but 124 NATO. Maybe due to the soft 9# recoil spring? All I've done is add a dot and some VZ grips. Leather is 1791...good stuff. I'm not a 1911 guy but I like this gun a lot. Carries well with aluminum frame and 30 rounds on board.

She's a beauty! Most problems 1911s have can many times be traced back to springs. I never owned a 9mm version, so I can't make any recommendations on spring weight. One thing that's nice is springs aren't difficult to swap out and they con't cost much, either.

Damn that is beautiful. But? You need to jump up a bit and get the most powerful handgun in the world the American .45. Stop an elephant charge dead in its tracks. Knock a freight train off the tracks. When you absolutely must kill every bad guy in the room grab your .45. 😊

They had to quit practicing with .45s in the Nevada desert. People thought they were testing atomic bombs.

Maybe polishing the feed ramp or throating the barrel will make 124gr NATO feed better. That is a beautiful pistol and rig, anyway

Yeah I know. I have 2 .45s both of the Glock persuasion but I have pretty much settled on 9 for carry. Cheaper to train with and better capacity and I don't feel underpowered with HST 147s.

Funny how some pistols prefer one type of ammo over another. With my CZ P01, I can keep quarter sized groups with 124 at 7 yards. With 115 gr. ammo, they go to fist sized. Either one will do the trick, though. Then, the Argentine Hi Power will put every round practically through the same hole, no matter what I shoot through it. I'd probably carry it, but I need to do some work on the safety - it's too stiff to just flick off on the draw.

One of the reasons I generally prefer Glocks and other plastic striker guns. They just seem to run on anything. I had 2 issued Berettas, a 92 and a 96. I had a Sig P229R issued but I always preferred Glocks and now my RXM. No stumbles whatsoever so far.

I have a bolt action Marlin rifle in .22 mag that is dead on accurate at 100 yds. Like put the rounds in a quarter size hole even with my old eyes. No place to test further range in the swamp here. But your right on the ammo as it likes one kind and been awhile since I shot and can't remember which one. 200 the wind would probably be movin it around? Tube fed I think they stopped 'regulations' making them from those damn Clintooon? mag laws.

Nice gat Chief, maybe I can set off a few rounds through it the next time we go shooting.

Lombard lead therapy followed by German food? Always a winner.
