Back from Cardiologist

Well... one echo cardiogram done yesterday, cow valve still opening and closing, ejection fraction rate still at 47, has not improved, DR said once they stop your heart and restart it for the surgery it suffers and may never be the same. Tomorrow they will hook me up to a monitor for three days. Monday is the four hour nuclear test...laying down on a very uncomfortable bed made for midgets, half my legs sticking out camera bumping on my shoulders and no coffee that morning.

I turned 70 in June. I take no Rx drugs but pop a daily Bayer aspirin along with olive oil several times a week. Losing 25 lbs a couple of years ago (and keeping it off) has helped a lot.

4 hour test? I'd be going nuts, I can barely make it through an MRI for 45 minutes.

Those tech centers should have monitors for watching movies like on an hours long flight.

Yeah, they put some radioactive crap in you and wait about two hours then you go to the contraption where they take a look at your blood flow the whole thing is close to four hours, surrounded by old decrepit folks......oh wait, I'm becoming one of them. shit!

MR-AK, used to be like that too and one day I had a mild chest pain, didn't pay attention, then I had a couple more and that was a very good warning. One of my cousins didn't pay attention... he died a week before my surgery. I thought I was invincible at one time, now I want to do a lot of things before they turn me off.

Oh shit, there have been a lot of thunderstorms around here lately.

Just made it back again, this time they hooked me up to a monitor. Freaking cool, just a three inch thingy glued to my chest that transmits to a cell phone via Bluetooth which will send a signal to the cloud in real time. It checks respiration rate, heart rate, Atrial Fibrillation, activity level. wow, I was expecting the old monitor with a bunch of cables attached to you for several days. This is super cool. I just have to carry two phones now.

Doctors are leaches, they'll suck up as much money as they can from insurance companies. I told the little girl who did the echo the other day, "There is no need to do this but you guys are milking the system", she smiled and said "We have to make a living".

But given the type of surgery I had, yeah, let's make sure everything is working the way it should.

Left with the monitor on and went to Home Depot to pickup a couple things and a few large bags of potting soil, to start planting my Basil and tomatoes. I figure if they want to check my heart, do it while I do heavy work.
