....I just learned another lifelong friend has passed away. We became pals in kindergarten at Ritzman Elementary school in Akron ,Ohio back in the 1950's. We graduated from HS in 1967 and he was immediately enlisted in the USAF. He stayed in for twenty and retired a master sargent. Moved back to Ohio and went to work for United Airlines at Cleveland Hopkins. He passed away this August in Mesa Arizona. My buddies are all starting to drop and I'm feeling alone. I never thought I would live this long.
Another lifelong friend has passed...

Sorry for you loss dinky. Yes sadly loosing friends is not easy. Our military reunion each year down in Melbourne Fl. I was afraid to ask where he or she is. You don't realize how much you had till their gone. Best to just look back and remember the funny dumb sheet yah had with your friends and keep smiling.
Life is short God will come to yah when its our turn..👍 1Comment

I know the feeling. We had a nice group since middle school that always hung together, a couple have already dropped. The rest of us have decided to get together in the coming weeks for a couple of beers, We're scattered throughout Florida but we're making arrangements, You never know who is next on the list.Sometimes I wish I had a Harry Potter's wand and make people go up into smoke.😞 1Comment

In the last few years the demographics have been removing my lifelong friends and classmates like a fucking grim reaping metronome. I have younger friends but they do not share the times I've past seen. Most all of my Army buddies are in cemeteries now also. We boomers are dropping like flys. The number of Vietnam combat vets left alive must really be becoming small. Sometimes ...like now....it really feels as if the walls are closing in. Perhaps I am overly sentimental...? I dunno but...?👍 2😞 1Comment

Condolences sir. I turned 60 this year and I have observed my world get smaller with the loss of a few very close friends and family members. As they say it sucks getting old but it beats the alternative. In a strange turn of events, the sister of my first love in high school reached out to notify me of her sister's passing. That one felt a little weird.😞 1Comment

Sorry to hear about your loss. Keeping his memory alive kinda helps.
My small circle of friends has largely evaporated due to three decisions I made: retiring early, moving, and getting out of the live band scene. They're still alive but our interests and locations are so different that we just drifted apart.👍 2Comment

I'm 81 and my only oldest friend is too. He is still kicken but he's the last one. I call him every once in a while hoping he still answers the phone. Every other one I knew that was worth a damn are now gone. I'm not really lonely, but diminished by their absence.😞 2Comment
