I think you and I are in "violent agreement". I carry almost everywhere I go even in the "peaceful" small town I live near. I'm just a little suspicious of a store that suddenly decides to allow customers to carry on the heels of this 1 November deadline. I may be 100% off-base on this, but it gives the impression that they're leveraging people like us to protect their businesses from the welfare people who are planning to steal from them on 1 November.

It's not about Nov 1, open carry just became a law in September. Here's an article:

Not Publix. Actually they are one of the best companies to work for, they hire retirees, people with disabilities and they pay well, I had a relative who worked there all his life and he was quite happy, they don't care if someone steals something, they are the most expensive grocery store in Florida, but their products are the best that's why we keep shopping there and their customer care is top notch. No, they don't need a bunch or rednecks with guns to help them out and certainly not in my neighborhood. Welfare folks don't shop there.

Keeping "welfare people" out of the store is the key. If you do that, you've won 90% of the battle. Walmart caters to the welfare crowd because they'll literally spend their entire paycheck in the store. Trouble is... They bring a whole lot of problems: theft, fake accidents, disrupting, breaking things, moving merchandise, etc... I think it's far better to cater to good customers than cater to the welfare crowd.

I knew there was a good reason for buying the M249 & cases of links & 5.56 ammo. They may get off a mag from a glock with a switch, but its empty after 2 seconds. My M249 carries a 200 round drum & has alot more firepower.

That glock that mookie is shooting rarely hits anything being shot sideways, just makes a lot of noise.

Excellent point, Sir! No matter what you do for these people, it will never be enough. Unless you're literally standing over them, watching their every move, they will always behave poorly. Been there. Done that.

I saw someone post up something that went along the lines of, "If they steal my cart, they won't get any food. All they'll get is ingredients!"

I remember being in Publix years ago & a black guy stole something that made the employees chase after him. He made it across the parking lot & a 4 lane highway, back into the ghetto from where he came. The employees stopped @ the end of the parking lot not wanting to get run over & injure somebody valuable.

What would have been the right thing to do was to shoot the thief & leave his dead ass in the parking lot, but with the liberal prosecutors here in Gainesville, the shooter would go to jail for stopping the thief.

Petty crime is annoying as fuck. But not worth the consequences. In the end, the mass looting is organized crime. With all that entails.

Stores will eventually have robust doors which lock on command, and will require payment shown prior to entry. Much like Costco, when they scan your CC prior to entry. Carts that read the contents are already a thing, for example.

Watched a nig-nog load up his cart with paint + supplies and walk right out the door, alarm blaring. Loaded up his Altima (you can't make this stuff up) and drive off. The Homeless Depot cashier said that I needed to pay for the air compressor. Yet the nig could not be chased. NY for the win....
