NO license to carry a gun and open carry. well, in some societies (latins) having a gun gives them a macho image, they feel powerful, invincible, like getting into a fight just to shoot someone... Some folks should never own a gun.

There has been an increase of cases locally of guys shooting one another for stupid reasons, all hispanics.

Last week I was speaking with a retired police chief about a recent Black-on-Black murder at a nearby gas station. The two Blacks knew one another and it appeared to be a chance encounter. Apparently, some words were exchanged. The 19 year old opened fire on the 30-something, killing him instantly.

The retired police chief said pretty much the same as you. Back in the day, men would fight each other with fists. Men would trade punches in a bloody duel of strength, skill and endurance. All that has changed. Instead; they go straight to a handgun.

My theory: Younger generations are more sedentary than we were. We relied on fists and muscles to challenge our opponents. A handgun removes the muscle component from the fight. Pulling a trigger doesn't require much more energy than tapping a smart phone.

Back in high school I got in some fights; we all did. The thought of using a handgun didn't even cross our minds.
