I was born in NYC, lived there for the first part of my life. The idea that the city has remained the same is wildly in error. It is chaos and lawless everywhere now. It was lawless back then too, but only by location. The city fell after 9/11, those that could do so moved out. The void was filled by illegals. Those illegals vote for their way of life. Not unlike muslim countries who vote once, bringing in islamic leadership, never to have another vote.

Consider that NYC produces NOTHING, makes no energy, grows no food, produces no water, manufactures no products, makes no steel, no concrete, no asphalt. City run grocery stores? Does he know that grocery stores run at about a one per cent profit, yes 1% profit, they depend on volume, 1% profit can not afford 100 30 dollar an hour employees, not in NY so stores prices will not be able to compete in the market...unless again, somebody else is paying for it all.

They made movies about it. All the Charles Bronson revenge porn movies were centered here. Remember Escape from New York? IT was so bad the movie was set in a time when NY is a giant penal colony. Remember in the 80s when New York was so over run with garbage they put it on a barge and ran it up and down the east cost trying to get a southern State to take it. The only exception to this was Rudy Giuliani. He cleaned up crime and the city. It was the safest big city in the world during his time as Mayor. And guess what? New Yorkers hated him for it. I know because I started college in a school overrun with these degenerates and I heard all about it. Now the only problem is New Yorkers who will migrate out of the city into my area, as they have been doing for years. They come here not for freedom but for low taxes and cheap houses. Yet they do their same shit here demanding more government and more taxes. These people have no life skills and have no self reliance. All they know is walking down the street to a deli and flipping a switch and the lights come one. As is pointed out, that feted dump produces nothing other than diamond brokers and stock jobbers.
