Quite a number of years ago I think it was 60 min. I was watching? They were going into pubs in England and interviewing elderly WWII vets. Asking the question brought up in this thread. 'Was your military service worth it'? To a man the answer was NO. Now each did state the sickness of the Holocaust and certain elements of the devout 'SS' German army as the exception of yes they had to serve and them to be eliminated.
Each stated non support for the Nazis but were not happy with what the liberals had done to their country. They questioned if the left wing elements of those running and ruining their country are not worse than as if the Nazis had won the war.
