    Freaking hospitals

Spent all morning at my local hospital, passed a stone and have a terrible UTI, my right nut still hurts like hell.
anyhow here comes this lady to get forms signed “ sir would you like an HIV test?
honey you are talking to a 70+ year old más who’s been married for47 years. I take that as an insult.

she said they have to ask by law.

I've never been asked that in any hospital or doctor visit. When she said "by law", maybe she meant Florida law, as I have never been to a hospital in Florida.

That's bull shit, it's just to make more money.

        edit: I was wrong:
No, Florida law does not require hospitals to ask for an HIV test, but it does require them to offer it as part of routine testing with an "opt-out" approach, meaning patients are informed they will be tested unless they refuse
. This change, effective since 2015, aims to normalize testing and reduce stigma. Hospitals must notify patients that the test is planned, and the patient can decline the test, though this refusal must be documented in their medical record.

Yep, just a money making angle. You shouldn't have to opt out and no test should be automatic requiring you to say no. This is right up there with one year subscriptions to things that automatically renew unless you jump through a bunch of hoops to decline. They know a percentage of people will overlook or forget that little disclaimer until they see the charge show up on a statement. Sly bastards.

Wife got caught in one of those deals with health pills. I tried and tried , at the end I just cancelled the credit card. Then it’s no longer my problem..

The Govt. run V.A. with its socialized medicine. Want to see kick backs envelopes dropped on the floor to dept. heads? Visit your local V.A.. 50 yrs. with the V.A. system and I could write a book.. Here is a few.

Home rehab- From my shoulder operation. 40 minutes here with the therapists. $1,150.00 per each visit it varied sometimes around $600 +-.
Post shoulder operation- Kid comes in my hospital V.A. room 'You need this shoulder brace I have to measure'. I don't want it. Please sir just take it. I took the frigging thing to help the young feller.
Sleep Apnea- Test and free equipment if you tested positive. Hundreds of vets I see at the Gainesville V.A. waiting for their tests. They put me up in a nice hotel and tests in the morning. Positive test Tim your equipment will be mailed to you.

I could sit here all night and tell yall about your govt. taxes getting distributed to Dept. heads and those up the pecking order at the V.A... If the govt. ever takes over our medical needs for the general population? Goodbye America it was nice.

Yup the frigging V.A. is hiring one nurse for up to 10 or more patients. Then about 5 assistants who took the two week course on how to empty piss bottles. Haitians are being hired by the truck loads. The Haitians do NOT come if you hit the buzzer their in the back eating or watching T.V.. You 'MIGHT' see your nurse a few times for each shift their working.
Vets moved down here and other warm climate states and the V.A. are frigging packed. The V.A.s up north are way better for quality of help. The surgeons are great its just getting to them.

After arriving home from the hospital after my heart surgery I get a visit from this old hispanic nurse, Hi I'm your nurse, I will be taking care of you, but I'll be very fast today and will not replace the bandages because I have my husband and dogs in the car with me"...mind you I still have three two inch holes that haven't closed yet and an 18 inch cut down the center of my chest ....thank God right at that moment my daughter gets home, still wearing her surgical scrubs....."Look lady, that's my daughter, she's a surgical nurse, I really don't need you to come see me, she can take care of me, OK?...bye sucker. My daughter took care until everything healed. Just another insurance ripoff deal.

A female friend was given a pregnancy test during a recent checkup. She made it clear her tubes had been tied 20 years ago after her 3rd chitlin.

Yup Fred if the healthy citizen taxpayers knew how their getting their hard earned money wasted? Their would be a revolution.
I won't ruin everyone's day with the stealing at the V.A.s. If it ain't nailed down or even if it is? Its GONE.

ADD: That frigging nurse didn't help you? I bet she got paid for the visit though? What's a little infection among friends. Damn.

Having her dogs in the car with her I wouldn't let her touch my wounds. She was pissed.."I guess I don't have to come back then, right? nope, I have my own private nurse, thank you.
