Northern Lights

You can see the Northern Lights in about half of the US. I got up and watched them for a few minutes. Clouds blocked them intermittenly. Should be able to see them again tonight and maybe. Thursday. I hope the clouds go away..

I saw them in my area but not nearly as spectacular as what you saw. It was a very faint pink glow. I could see it better on a long cell phone camera exposure.

States that may be able to see the Northern Lights tonight include Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Visibility will be best in states further north and away from city lights, typically between 10 PM and 2 AM local time.

My sister got some good pics of them in Southern Arizona, and my cousin in Southern New Mexico. So, they were visible in the lower latitudes. Should be even more intense tonight as the bigger solar storms hit us.

I had total clouds last night and a light snow.

Full cloud cover around here. I’ve lived in Alaska and Sweden, so I’ve see them many times. It would be nice if my wife and children could see them. Someday ….
