Venezuela has been becoming very friendly with Russia and Iran lately plus they have become a major drug distribution hub. They are weak and their economy sucks. Venezuelans are not fighters, they are party folks, I know many of them, if we go in, guess what side they'll be on?. Russia is not really a major factor here except they could have a missile in Florida within minutes and Iran hates us, they have been using Venezuela as a door to get their people here through the border.

If we help Ukraine with missiles, Russia could be threatening us from Venezuela. Forget Cuba, Russia already lost enough money there and they left the island as a museum, they are no longer a factor but Venezuela has oil,not a very good quality but it's oil nevertheless, so Russia can use them as a front to sell their oil and give them a cut, violating the embargo imposed on them.

If we took Panama in three days we can do Venezuela in a week Have to do it before those two stake a claim on Venezuela.

They do have an older Air Force based in Maracay, a few F16's which I'm sure are old and not maintained well, their pilots are very good though, so hit them before they have a chance to take off. I know all of this first hand. The presidential security people are Cubans, he does not trust Venezuelans, Cubans and Venezuelans blend in very easily.

I'm pleased to see a strategic focus away from Europe and the Middle East and more toward our hemisphere. The way I understand it, the Venezuelan government is being controlled by cartels. It's no longer a legitimate government. It's a rogue state.

What should we do about it? First and foremost, we need to protect OUR interests above all others. Everything else is a distant concern. The last thing we want to do is commit US troops fighting for people who won't even fight for themselves. Our country has been down that road before.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Trump may be able to create positive change in Venezuela and possibly even control the country with words alone. He's a negotiator with our best interests in mind. I don't see him giving anything without getting something in return.
