Exactly every order would essentially become subjective to individual troops personal opinions or feelings. Geez I don't think I want to do that sir those people look friendly I don't want to hurt them.. Our military would become a pizza eating boys club with tanks and guns to play with. If it wasn't going to destroy our military and our reason for having a military I could kind of like it.. 😁

LPs weren't real popular with the troops either. Three men on an LP outside of the LZ Oasis perimeter disappeared during a big assault on the Oasis on Mother's Day 1969. I was several bunkers down from where the dinks came in. We never found their bodies on the sweeps so it was figured that they were taken POWs.

I found on the internet thirty something years later that the three were indeed taken POW and were released after the war.

Actually they claim to have been in the military, so they must know their Oath of Enlistment, someone please remind them that just because they received a DD214 they were never relieved from their pledge....recall them and then court martial them. The military isn't a democracy where you get to debate every order or pick and choose because you or someone might think it might be unlawful. These assholes know that, but they also know they can put out treasonous shit like this and not be held accountable.

Great story RTO tired I have to finish reading it tomorrow. I kept reading about the Oasis in the Ivy news but we never did make it down their. Lucky guys on that L.P. damn lucky they did not just kill them. We had L.P.s fall sound asleep at the Iah Drang and a whole damn company of NVA left them sleep walked around them and hit us good. They called said they were coming in I could not spot em or I would have shot them.

It's a trap. Members of the military can, in fact, refuse to comply with unlawful orders. The trouble is trying to define what is lawful vs. unlawful. I would advise Secretary Hegseth to ignore this provocation. The enemy has set this trap and you're fighting on their terms. Personally, I'd live to fight another day, concentrating on more important issues.
