This is what AI says about us.

The Dirty Dozens Bunker (often referred to simply as "The Bunker" or DDB) is an online forum with a long history, primarily known as a hub for survivalists, "preppers," and enthusiasts of firearms and military gear.

The "folks" there generally fall into a few specific subcultures:

    1. Survivalists and Preppers

The core of the community is built around self-reliance. You'll find people discussing long-term food storage, off-grid energy solutions, emergency medicine, and "SHTF" (Shit Hits The Fan) scenarios.

    2. Firearms and Tactical Enthusiasts

The community has a heavy focus on the technical side of firearms, including:

    • Building and Maintenance: Detailed discussions on parts, optics, and gunsmithing.

    • Marksmanship: Sharpshooting and tactical training.

    • Gear Reviews: In-depth evaluations of vests, packs, and outdoor equipment.

    3. "Old School" Internet Users

The forum has a reputation for being a "salty" or "old school" corner of the internet. The user base is often described as:

    • Opinionated and Libertarian: Many members hold strong anti-government or libertarian political views, often skeptical of mainstream narratives.

    • Tight-knit but Tough: They are known for a "thick-skin" culture. Newcomers might find the tone blunt or cynical; it’s a community where "trolling" is common and respect is usually earned over time through technical knowledge rather than politeness.

    Contextual Reputation

In the broader world of gun and survival forums, the Dirty Dozens Bunker is often seen as more "hardcore" or "fringe" compared to larger, more moderated sites like AR15.com or The High Road. It’s a place for those who prefer less moderation and a more unvarnished, "no-holds-barred" environment.

    Well, can't say it's 100% wrong.
Can't believe it said we were opinionated and salty, as open minded, caring and tolerant as we are

AI only says that because it's the only thing it could get from the internet.
If every person on this forum started posting about our altruistic efforts helping the needy on a different social media platform once a day, AI would have that "view" of us in probably three days.
It's gonna be a long time before your toaster is smart enough to kill you.

The AI description appeared to be an unbiased assessment. Was it perfect? No. Was it full of fawning praise? No. But it looked fair and impartial.

Count your blessings. It could have easily labeled us as Nazis.

AI as we know it today is not actually artificial intelligence. AI is just a glorified search engine. Grok AI scours X/Twitter posts to formulate its response. Chat GPT scours Reddit posts. Etc, etc.

It is a multi faceted search engine with the ability to articulate answers tailored to the question presented. BUt it can also do much more. My son was able to use it to generate reports that would have taken many people several days to gather, prepare and present data in a comprehensive way and it did it in a matter of minutes, but Google has given him access to the professional side of it.

One nice thing about AI is brevity. I like being able to type a quick question and get a concise and accurate response. It's not perfect, but close enough.

For example; the other day I was shopping for a slow cooker and wanted to know how they work. AI gave me a quick summary and all the information I wanted in a couple paragraphs. Try doing that with You Tube. I'd be sitting through commercials and 30 minutes of talk before getting the info I want.
