    Hurricane Milton

Florida members watch out, there is another storm on the way. Tim, this one looks to be passing over your AO. You may need to grab your rucksack and head this way in a few days.

Damn I am glad you posted that RTO. So many storms I did not see that one sneaking up. 110+ m.p.h. and storm surge will level the west coast Tampa, Cedar Key etc..
Cedar Key west of me here had rebuilt from last year now Helene a few weeks ago leveled them again. Bad for us but I really really pray this goes out to sea after hitting us and not up to Georgia and the Carolinas. Those poor people the damage up their is beyond belief. ☹

Tim, you need to worry about the St Johns flooding since you are so close to it. I read that Milton may drop up to 30 inches of rain. That could be bad for most of Florida.

Kid in Port St. Lucie is already making plans to evacuate, if necessary, to Pensacola. With a newborn baby, riding out a hurricane just doesn't seem like the adventure it once was.

Yes you guys are correct this is the perfect storm at just the wrong time. Water is up to the top of my sea wall now. Damn gators are coming in the back yard I have to bounce beer bottles off their skulls. Man they get pissed. 😄
St. Johns river is at capacity trying to empty to the Atlantic at Jacksonville. But this storm could be a serious problem thank the lord I am friends with my neighbors with nice pontoon boats. 👍

Sanders tell the kid to head out like first thing in the morning as these roads get bumper to bumper with people evacuating. Have him bring a few full gas cans incase the stations run out on the trip.

ADD: He maybe should make plans for Alabama as the Panhandle got tore up from Helene a few weeks ago. John Day 'pro golfer' lost his home up their. My buddy Dennis also his home up their? Gone.

Problem with moving to avoid the storm is these damn things change direction in nothing flat. Now if the location is on the ocean water front then get inland fast. But like last years storm it was heading for Tampa without a doubt guaranteed. Whoops hit way down at Ft. Myers I think it was? Most times its best to find a shelter school, govt. brick building whatever.
Local news and police can advise of the nearest one. Roads are packed and one fender bender you could ride out the storm on the hwy.

Here he comes Milton is on the way..

Lineman on the front lines in the Carolinas gave me a call 'update.' May be 6 to 8 months to restore power for thousands in the Carolina mountains. Roads are literally gone and they can't get in to power them up.
National Guard is dropping in supplies to them from Chinook helicopters. Communication for emergency services is through 'Star link' I think they call it. Towers out so God bless Elon Musk for providing it.
