Another neighbor and good friend just kicked the bucket

86 years old, was in relatively good shape, kidneys decided to stop and poof he was gone. Daughter called me. Nice house diagonally across from me, all updated his wife had passed about four years ago, three kids, the girls are fine, the boy is an asshole, his wife doesn't work and he wants money. The house I value at close to $900K so not everyone can afford to live there. I lost a gun too . An old friend of mine gave me a Brazilian copy of a S&W 2" 38 SPCl to give to my mother, my friend died, then my mother died, This guy told me he was afraid to be without a gun so I gave it to him, now he dies. Freaking gun has killed three people without firing even once. I sure don't want it back.

So life goes on at the old neighborhood.

I’m at a point in my life where I delete contacts from my phone because they died faster than I add contacts because I made a new friend.

        Condolences for your friend.

Sounds like a huge fight is about to start over the estate--whatever you do, stay out of it.

Condolences about your friend. I'm finding the older I get, the fewer people I know - friends, and family. Kind of sucks.

Don't know what to say about the pistol. Some things just seem to be cursed that way, I reckon.

I feel the same way about black eyed peas that you do about that S&W. Had black eyed peas for New Year 2005 and half the people I knew died that year and not one of them ones I was hoping for.

Not my problem. If they need advice I'm here. It's their own fault they are in this predicament by using the wrong lawyer to set up a Life Estate Deed with no way out of it. I like them to leave a way out if the present owner wishes to make a change, sell or encumber the property. I was one of the witnesses and I questioned the "lawyer" on that and he didn't like it., so I just signed and left. I'm not a lawyer but in 25 years of real estate dealings I've seen too many problems caused by improper verbiage and I always like to check everything and look at the "What if" possibilities.
