Looks like Old Man Winter is making a play after all

This weekend is shaping up to be a real wood burner...

It's going to be bad for most of you guys.

Depends on your point of view. We're set to get hammered here in the Memphrica area, and I for one am looking forward to it. I suffered through a sweltering summer waiting for this upcoming weekend. People around here are losing their minds. They've cleared out the grocery stores like the next ice age is coming. We're getting snow from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, and it will be gone by Tuesday or Wednesday.

If you were real lucky there would not be a single Uhaul or Ryder rental truck left because they all left town

I'd rather it be an extinction level meter impact

I was in Lake Placid NY a few years ago and we had one more day at the cabin there but a note came into my phone, snow and ice storm lasting a few days. Told my wife, get your phone and get the next flight out or we're going to be stuck here for a few days and I'm not driving two hours to Albany in a snow storm. Found a flight out the next morning and we took off for the airport and slept there overnight,. Screw that, ice and snow, hills and unknown road, not for me.

Currently -10 degrees here, with the wind chill it's around -25. Some snow on the ground.

Yup. Glad I got a new furnace. Its barely stopped running. Thermostat set at 68. Previous handful of winters have been comparatively mild.

Real winter arrived today and will be here at least until the 1st. I didn’t miss the old SOB during his extended absence and am oddly for me thankful that he didn’t rear his ugly head until now. I say oddly because I’m an endemically ungrateful MF.

Despite the frigid cold we're doing pretty good here in the old wood shack. The 95% efficiency furnace helps a lot.
