    I looked for Fred.

Me and my lady friend cruised all over Sanibel looking for Fred and couldn't find him.
Saw some bad ass properties like an empty lot for $10 million.
A little out of my price range but me and my female companion have some serious designs on a rental unit/Airbnb and then a few more to pay for a nice retirement place down there.
79º there with palm trees and dolphins in the touchacoochie river or 5º and snow storms here.
The math got easier the more we talked about it.
I'll keep my two northern Michigan properties for hunting and 'shrooming and bail on my southern Mi house.
I think that's what everyone does.

Ashhoe yah should have gotten Fred's number before you headed down. I talk to him occasionally he is a real nice guy and would have given you tips on the neighborhood.
Not to rain on your parade but just be aware of homeowners and flood insurance down here. $$$$$ In defense of the ins. companies they got hammered from the storms down here. Like billions $$ from the last storm started down that way you just visited and went clear across the state then rode the coast north. Ins. forked out BIG time.
But prices are going up down here Fla. is a conservative good state 'pro gun' to live. Sounds good what yer doing but talk to Fred before you buy. He will put you in the right direction. Good luck. 👍

I was there last weekend, should have shot me a message. If you saw Rosalita's Mex Restaurant I'm on the same road aboujt 10 houses up.

You have to have a backup property outside of the island though, in case of hurricane everyone gets evacuated, if you buy there make sure it's elevated at least 8 feet.
