Watching a documentary on John Elway 'Denver Broncos' and he had some of the Duke's collection of firearms. I bet he laid out some bucks $$ for them he had a Winchester that was used in quite a few of his movies.Comment

A lifetime ago, while i was in Vietnam, the evening movie was "The Green Berets," with John Wayne. We nailed a sheet to a 2x4 frame so the movie could be watched on both sides. Every one of our Montaingard, "Mike Force" strikers... was there for the watch, must have been 200+. I sat on the side of our ammo bunker on sandbags, with a striker on either side of me, often holding hands (that does not mean there what it means here. There it means just friends) The 'Yards loved the duke and they all could see the brass ring on his wrist. It was 1970, the central highlands, due west of Cam Rahn Bay, at SF Camp, Non Co, A-235. Talk about irony. I liked the 'Yards a lot. Tough, loyal, honest and no one to fuck with. The movie was somewhat fictionalized...exp: SF Group commanders don't go out on field operations. I will never forget that evening.Comment
