There definitely was something wrong with that guy. In addition to a deadly reptile that ultimately killed him, he also had an assortment of pet spiders. To further question his judgment, after he was bitten he waited TWO HOURS before calling for help.Comment

I MUCH prefer warm and mammalian to cold and reptilian + deadly venomous for pets. I had a gal pal who kept a Boa Constrictor as a pet. Must have been about 8' long. She allowed it to roam her apartment. It crawled across my lap and shit out what looked like a cup full of cottage cheese on the floor. That gal was such a good fuck. She had a shaft drive Honda Gold wing and we often rode together out into Gods Country.Comment

I remember reading that King Cobras were considered highly intelligent among reptiles because, when placed in captivity, it generally only took them a week or two to learn and stop attempting to strike through the glass.
Keep in mind that they have a sensitive nose, and I would assume slamming nose first into hard glass hurts. If “smart” equals only doing the painful thing a few dozen times, how long does it take for the dumb ones to learn?
This genius trusted the dumb one to not bite the hand that feeds it.👍 1Comment

After reading the article I think we are going to need to shift blame here. Our boy was stupid for even having the lizards, and definitely stupid for letting one latch onto his hand. From that point on, he might not have been in a proper state to make his own decisions.
According to the girlfriend ….
“She told police she had heard something that “didn’t sound right” and entered a room to see Winston latched onto Ward’s hand“
”She told officers Ward “immediately began exhibiting symptoms, vomiting several times and eventually passing out and ceasing to breathe,” according to the report.”
So she finds him with a venomous lizard playing pitbull on his hand. He starts vomiting, passing in and out of consciousness, even going as far as not breathing on his own. Dude wasn’t in any shape to be making decisions. When minutes mattered it took her 2 hours to call 911.Comment

Gila monster is the only venomous lizard in the US. It's venom is considered mild and is usually not fatal and does not require anti-venom unless you have an allergic reaction.
I like snakes and reptiles. Have owned a corn snake for over 15yrs. He is tame and will come to the top of the tank when I approach, usually looking for food so they are somewhat responsive. I think they make cool low maintenance interesting pets but venomous ones are stupid to keep. Believe it or not the common garter, hog nose, and ring neck snakes are venomous but not to humans.Comment

Was she named in an insurance policy?
