MAGA superfan James Woods says he’s leaving the Republican Party

Just days after calling Donald Trump the “greatest president of my lifetime,” actor and outspoken MAGA supporter James Woods says he is leaving the Republican Party and registering as an independent, citing frustration with GOP leadership in Congress.

The “Ghosts of Mississippi” actor announced the decision Thursday in an X post criticizing congressional Republicans for blocking an effort to investigate Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, arguing some GOP lawmakers aren’t doing enough to hold the opposition accountable.

Woods’ decision comes amid a split in the Republican Party between lawmakers wary of risky investigations and conservatives who want a tougher approach against Democrats

I never understood why it mattered if someone was a "registered" Republican or not. As long as you vote correctly, it shouldn't matter if you're registered or not.

Five years ahead of ya Jimmie.

I should have known when I voted for Ross Perot against “Read my lips” Herbert I wasn’t onboard with most of their shit.

It mattered for primary elections, but now they are open primaries in many states and it doesn't matter which wing you claim. It's the same bird.

Same here. I really don't think it matters. It's just a "cry for help".

For some reason their afraid to go after this sand niqqer crooked anti American Ilhan Omar? Beginning of the year she had a net worth in the thousands. End of the year like $30 frigging million or their abouts? Just so happened to coincide with the corruption scandal going on in Minnesota. Yup I guess they should not ask her questions she probably hit big in Vegas.

I understand your frustration. I have the same. All I can say is there aren't that many "good" leaders. I'd argue that Trump, Rubio, Hegseth, Kennedy, Clarence Thomas, Vance, Caroline Levitt, and a few others truly have our best interests at heart. The majority of both parties do not. I've served in public office and about 20% truly care. The rest are just sycophants, opportunists and profiteers. Sometimes it's hard to know which is which.

I like Woods and his conservative stance but after all the guy is a washed-up Hollywood actor. The sun will still rise in the East and set in the West.

Eviction notice...jpg Yup I think Woods nailed it. The Repukes don't want to stir the pot looking into the sand niqqers stealing graft and corruption cause damn then they might look into theirs. Ah what the hell is $20 BILLION of Minnesota tax payers monies disappearing to the Somali's its already on page 6 of the news hell just fahgetabout it.
Like my Irish old man used to say 'Don't get mad at them get a job with them hell everyone is going to ferget about it in a month or so anyways.' This while our world police Troops are going to the middle east to fight and die to clean up Iran. Is our govt. any less corrupt than them? Maybe just maybe Mr. Woods is correct they should go to D.C. not the middle east and clean that sheeet hole up.

Whenever someone labels me a Republican, I tell them "I am not a Republican." Then they say, "So, you're a democrat?" I tell them, "No. I am someone smart enough to figure out who to vote for without relying on a political party to tell me who to vote for."

I just want my country back, and nobody on either side of the aisle seems to want that, too.

Don't care what any hollywood actor thinks. Any national election is a binary choice. Democrats have gone insane. Republicans are the only sane choice. Not perfect but perfect is the enemy of good.

For many years I was a "card carrying member," of the GOP. Around twenty (?) Years ago I got fed up with the GOPer bullshit their unashamed dimokkkratik party jizz gulping and swore the gopers would not get another dime out of me. I now contribute ONLY to the local party. Period. There are plenty of dimokkkratik assholes that have moved into the township over the last ten or fifteen years and into their million dollar homes AND want to recreate the same shithole they moved here to escape. You can't put up anything promoting conservative political viewpoints on your automobile or home... or you WILL get vandalized. FACT. BUT...its my understanding that the communists everywhere in America are attempting to punish/intimidate/assault/murder...anyone who does not drink their marxist koolaid. I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK!

Years ago I wondered how those sick political ideological butfucks like nazism, communism and the islamik pirate death cult could rise to any power. Now I fully understand because we are seeing those cancers metastasized right here, right now in the USA. I used to get paid to kill commys. Best job I ever had. Now they seek to kill anyone HERE who disagrees with them. Kind of like when the brown shirts were running wild in the 1930s Germany...no?

Just yesterday I had this same conversation with a conservative gal pal who stopped by. It was a beautiful sunny day and she was out taking her HD Sportster for a spin. Yeah I like biker chicks. I was ragging about how I was not going to be able to sit my putt anymore with no left foot. Then we started talking about how fucked up the geeks in NYC were for electing a fucking moslom communist to be their mayor after 9-11. Those images of our countrymen bailing out of the 500th floor windows of the TTTs to escape being burned alive...flapping their arms on the way down and splattering on the sidewalks. Motherfucker! WTF is wrong with those people voting for a fucking headbanger? I don't get it. Neither does my galpal.
