My neighbor buys 'Blue Dog Paintings'. $$$$

    Don't laugh just yet.

Featured Original Artwork On Canvas Starting At $75K

Original Blue Dog Paintings & Prints For Sale - George Rodrigue Blue Dog Prints & Originals

Marine Lee's wife at the end of the road here Pogo met them.. So she has these paintings of dogs painted blue on the walls and in her closets. Apparently she was good friends with the artist years back and bought them.. He the artist now deceased. Some weird sheet if their was a fire I would have left them burn.

    I think this one??

    fBlue Dog.jpg

Original. She sends it to auction and figures around $10 or $15 grand? $135,000 bang goes the gavel.. HOLY SHEET. I told Lee I would not even hang it on my damn wall...

ADD: She has a dozen more sitting around.

Art and musical tastes go hand-in-hand. Something that's beautiful to one person is utter garbage to another. For me, the "Blue Dog" paintings fall into the category of "utter garbage".

As for music... I stopped playing drums in bands a little over a year ago for the same reason. At one point, I suddenly realized I didn't like 90% of the songs we were doing. It was no fun and became a job rather than a hobby.

My aunt was artsy-craftsy, and had almost graduated from college with an art degree when she decided to whore around with a married man. The shit stain that she produced became a soul-sucking crackhead.
She had way more talent then the painter who did the blue dogs. Her paintings don't sell for Jack shit

My buds wife in my OP has several more of those dog crap paintings. I watch their dog for them when they go out of town and she has them setting against her bedroom wall unsecured. Probably another half mils. worth $$. I would not want one for free.
My X B.I.L. who can't draw a stick man as a joke put up a log cabin pencil drawing he scribbled on a piece of paper for sale on E-Bay. He got $100 for the damn thing. Called folk art or some damn thing. Short story here is his art he is deceased. ???.

My mother used to paint really good, but she did portraits and copies of famous paintings that was her hobby until she couldn't do it anymore. My oldest son kept all that stuff in his garage when she died
