Ain't that the truth! There was always a lot of good spirited teasing between Army and Marines. I certainly did more than my fair share. That said, I don't remember ever encountering a bad Marine; lots of bad Army guys, but never a bad Marine.

My favorite Army / Marine prank: Back in the late 80's or early 90's I was attending a field artillery school. I was a lieutenant and we had a Marine captain in our class. He was scheduled to give the class the next day on naval gunnery. He had worked hard to prepare and everything was in order, to include detailed visual aids consisting of various charts. He taped all the charts to this pull-out blackboard at the front of the class.

A few days prior, I visited a Navy recruiting station and explained I wanted to play a joke on a Marine. They were all in and gave me a couple "Go Navy" recruiting posters. The night before his class, I taped the posters to the pull-out blackboard and rolled it back in place. Everything looked normal.

During the Marine captain's class, everything was going well. He reached for the blackboard, pulled it out exposing the "Go Navy" posters. The class erupted in laughter. He laughed too. He knew exactly who did it!
