What pocket knife do you carry?

I've noticed that a lot of younger men don't carry any sort of pocket knife. I grew up carrying a blade of some kind. I'm not talking about defensive knives, but utility knives for day to day uses. I always carry my Leatherman Wave multi-tool. And I also usually carry my Milwaukee Fastback. It is cheap ($20 at Home Depot), can open and close it with one hand, has a screwdriver, and never needs to be sharpened (just change out the blade).

I'm just curious, what sort of pocket knife do any of you carry for day to day tasks?

About 90% of the time I carry a basic Swiss Army folding knife. I have about 3 or 4 that I rotate through. I really like the utility of these knives. It's a pry bar, a corkscrew, a screwdriver, an awl, a can opener, etc. No other knife comes close.

The other 10% of the time I carry a "classic" folding tactical 3" blade knife. One thing all my knives have in common is price. You'll never catch me carrying a $250 pocket knife. Every knife I own is designed to be used. They're tools, not museum display pieces. If I lose or break one, I feel sad for about 30 seconds, and then reach for another from the "pile".

Tomorrow morning will be an exception. I'm doing a solo overnight backpacking trip on Michigan's North Country Trail. I'll be carrying a big Glock Field Knife. It's stupid big and looks more like a bayonet than a camping knife. Why did I choose this knife? Because it's cheap and it's cool. Even at age 62, the little boy inside of me still loves big ass knives.

A Leatherman Wave and a 3-bladed Stockman type knife of various manufacture - today, it's a Bear & Sons. I've had a pocketknife in my pocket since I was 4 yrs old, except during Basic Training.

Don't carry daily but have this one when I head to my woods



No brand on it just one of those impulse buys near the register at I'm guessing Tractor Supply
It has served me well and not real expensive

I have had the same Leatherman in
my pocket since 1994 .

I also had an Ernest Emerson , but I
gave that to a man who watched
my back fearlessly.

The folder in my pocket is called
a Tac Right .

It's a Joe Shmoe folder .
Not too bad .

I was never much for carrying knives hell if I can't shoot it I run wicked fast like the cheetah. But lately I find myself using this Workpro virtually every day hell several times a day.

Buying from Amazon constantly and its a must have to open their cardboard packages. Now I use it to open letters, cut string, rope, fishing line, etc. and trying to figure why I didn't have a little knife with me all those years.

Blade is a bit on the hard side, but once you've got a good edge on it the edge holds fairly well.

I keep losing them, it sucks, I know carry a CRKT assisted opening, but I have a few others, an Italian stiletto automatic, of course, beautiful thing, a very old Buck 60T that's been with me for over 50 years, a Gerber and a couple of Chinese made double edge that go in-out when you flip a switch, whatever those are called, one has a glass breaking end on it so I keep it in the car. I have recently lost a few, don't know how or where

I only took a knife to a gunfight once, a Buck 110 - in Paris, pFrance. I wound up owning a gold plated .25ACP until I dropped it in the Seine River. The black African I took it from turned ghost white when he felt the blade point against his belly. Never let the guy with the knife get close.....

You get caught with a knife there and you are done. I (along with wife, daughter and couple other ladies) had to take the wrong subway once, the right line was closed for repairs and wound up in a black area of town, holy crap, I grabbed my pen and said to myself, it's all I have, go for the eyes. But no, I had no problems.

I have a small collection, some of which are nice pieces (Spyderco, Benchmade, CRKT, Kershaw, Boker) but the one usually in my pocket is a $10 Ozark Trail from Wal Mart.

If you want to put some spring in your blade here is an online retailer that doesn't break the bank. I have an OTF and a side folder auto. They are not bad for the price point.

Kershaw Ken Onion and I think the other is a Black Wash. Made in USA. I have had the Ken Onion for over 20 years. I dropped the Black wash in the grass at the airport where it rained on it for several weeks and got run over by a lawn mower. The guy in the hanger next to me found it and gave it to me. No rust and only a small nick from the lawn mower blade. Both hold an edge. Incredible knives.

I have a drawer full of random pocket knives from when I worked lobby security at the Wayne County courthouse in Detroit.

"Sir, I'm sorry but this knife is not permitted in the courthouse."
"Aw crap, I forgot I had it. Go ahead and toss it."

If it was in decent shape, I kept it. I never got anything real cool except for a Stiletto switchblade. But I did get a folder with a seatbelt cutter and glass breaker the still lives in the center console of my truck.
