I once worked the numbers, and I would have to buy and install $100K worth of solar panels to power my house. Something to also remember, is companies that peddle solar panels received millions in government subsidies. It is indeed a scam.

Why would you plug a solar panel into an electrical outlet? Did not read article...seems bass ackwards.

well that may feed only half your house.

I feed my generator into a 50Amp 220 dual breaker, main goes off line, this one comes on and feeds the whole house. #8 cable runs to the outside about 4 feet inside a metal conduit to a connector on the wall.

edit: also have a ground cable to attach to the generator chassis, it's a good practice.
