I just sat down, "Alexa turn office light on 100% and ceiling fan to 3 ding...."Wow, Alexa what would I do without you? " You would probably get up and start flipping switches like you used to do".....what a smart ass AI program.

I control my HVAC with my phone. And i dont have to be home to change settings.

I've never tried Alexa or Apple Home.

I control two houses from my phone, I even have a Moen automatic leak detector at the island house on the water line so it tells me if water is running, and I can turn it off, I control the AC, the water, lights, I can watch all cameras around the house, the same at this place, all cameras, AC, lights, , switches, Christmas tree, But for many of those I don't need my phone, just call Alexa and it will do it, plus it plays my music, adds numbers for me, tells me the weather and wakes me up and makes phone calls for me And that artificial intelligence box is pretty smart, it remembers stuff you say, which could be a good or bad thing. On Firestick TV it controls channels and volume. It knows who's talking too if you train it and calls you by name. I asked it once what model of AI they were using but it refused to tell me citing copyrights or something. Sometimes it reacts to some words and goes off on a rant by itself, got to tell it to shut the hell up. But I am surprised at its ability to carry on an intelligent conversation just like a person. First computer I used fifty years ago you had to type each command line on a punch card. wow!
