    Police departments are shrinking

Yeah, she'll be a big help in a scrum. First sign of resistance from a suspect, she'll be blasting.

      I came on in 1990 .
The average cop was a Black , White ,
Hispanic , or ocassional Asian man.

      Some weren't huge .
      Some were huge .
If they weren't house mouses , they
would fight like honey badgers .

      You're radio didn't work downstairs
in the subways . Those men were
extra vicious , if need be .

A lot of martial arts and boxers .

The Academy took away the 5 foot
wall you had to go over to graduate.

This , plus recruitment changes ,
      completely changed the dynamic
      of my job.

Now , the average cop on my job
is a short , extremely fat girl , with
      a bad attitude .

The average male cop comes up
to my rib cage and weighs half of me.

They're either not trained or terribly
trained in hand to hand combat .
They play patty cake and try to wrestle
cuffs on violent perps. They wind up striking
him 10 to 20 times without any effect .

It ALWAYS looks bad on camera .

If you only hit the perp once or twice
and end it , it doesn't look as bad .

No one really wants my job any more .
      Very few are generational .
      it used to always be

Reminds me of Mordacai the sheriff in the movie High Plains Drifter.

Very true. The ones qualified for the job are smart enough to see that the job isn't what it used to be. Nobody wants to be the next Derek Chauvin. I'm so glad I got out nine years ago.
