House unanimously votes to eliminate 1-cent coin permanently

Americans may soon no longer be able to offer a penny for their thoughts — because the 1-cent coin will be relegated to the ash heap of history.
The House of Representatives voted to send the smallest piece of U.S. currency the way of the dodo on Monday, passing the bipartisan Common Cents Act in a unanimous vote.
The Common Cents Act passed the House to officially end penny minting and establish cash rounding to the nearest nickel for cash transactions.
We have met the enemy and he is us.

Psychological fact people will walk right past an item they see marked to an even number but make it a penny less and they will buy. What the hell are they going to do now make it a nickel less?
While the total U.S. national debt is approximately $40.05 trillion they should do the same with the dollar bill as the American dollar is useless.
If every legally counted person in America gave $117, 349 to our federal govt. our country could be debt free. Do your part for our country give today. Wheelbarrow.jpg

Uh so sorry buddy but no. Now you must buy 5 for a nickel. Or just eat it before you get to the register and its free.

I have about 20 lbs of them in a couple of cans. Worth more as metal than money.

That's the most important thing Congress could find to focus their attention on?

I have a small jar of wheat pennies. I can't part with them.

Does this mean instead of some philosopher giving us their .02 we’ll have to listen to one and a half times more shit?

Copper has some health benefits as does silver.

Two years the V.A. worked 'antibiotics' on the small wound 'cellulites' on my leg with no luck to heal it. Two months of silver treatment at an outside wound clinic with silver? Gone cured silver works. Medieval times years ago the wealthy drank out of silver challises. Not to show off but those who did did not get sick. They did not know why it just worked..

ADD: The clinic put 2 in. by 2 in. thin silver pads on the wound. I laughed but two months later I stopped laughing.
