I'm driving to the Grand Canyon...

Just like the title says, first thing tomorrow morning, I'm getting in my truck and taking a road trip to the Grand Canyon. When I hit Oklahoma City, I'll be getting off the interstate when I can to explore Route 66 all the way to Flagstaff. I'm looking forward to checking out all the abandoned gas stations, Cadillac Ranch, and other attractions along the way. I just hope the weather is decent for me.

I'm not going to be exploring the Grand Canyon. Its just my destination and turn-around point. The drive itself is going to be my vacation.

I haven't visited the grand canyon. But I have the senior pass and have visited many others national parks.. Only one that disappointed me was Yellowstone. It was way overcrowded. Possibly best to visit it in the winter.

I've got one of those senior lifetime passes too, it saves you money and I have a wildlife refuge in the island I can go and take pictures.

I got the Veteran's Lifetime pass. Haven't had a chance to try it out, yet, aside from some fee areas for picnics with the Forest Service.

I totally understand the road trip thing and do something similar. A couple times a month I disappear to our off grid cabin or an overnight camping trip.
