We need to trim NATO to a coalition of the willing and capable if that doesn't work scrap it.

Napoleon made multiple mistakes in that campaign.

1) Failed to adequately address logistics for the largest army ever assembled (up to that point).

2) Due to several factors, mostly logistical surrounding gathering and staging The Grande Army, they entered Russia too late in the year. They should have started in early spring, when the troops were fresh and taken better advantage of the warmer months.

3) Failed to have reasonable objectives that accounted for the winter months. Should have marched into Moscow, helped the Czars’ saboteurs burn the entire city to the ground, declared Moscow’s destruction as the cost of betrayal, and returned. Waiting over a month for a peace negotiation that never came was fatal. Get in, get out.

4) Failed to obtain air support. I don’t care that planes weren’t a thing yet. You want to invade Russia, you bring air support!
